By the way, what might the Slavic Gods of Winter and Summer look like,
if we start from the South Slavic folk saints - the Hosts of the corresponding halves of the year:
Winter (the older brother in this pair), on a white horse with a gray beard, from which snow is falling (in general, it is quite a natural image to personify winter) and
Summer - "Green Yuri", on a green (i.e. piebald) horse, dressed with branches up to the degree of mixing with a plant symbol, - and with the key He uses to unlock the earth and release the dew.
The second painting depicts the same Winter and Summer in a different, “ethnoarchaic” style.
